Christopher R. Antley Partner

As far back as he can remember, Chris Antley has always wanted to be a lawyer. Born in Orangeburg, Chris grew up in Greer, South Carolina and returned home to practice law within a year of graduating from law school. Over his 19-year career, Chris has guided clients through lawsuits and appeals in cases heard in courts ranging from county magistrate courts to the South Carolina Supreme Court and federal courts of appeal. Though he has been fortunate to have built a general practice that allows him to confront a variety of interesting issues, Chris has focused his work on cases involving federal civil rights, governmental liability, local governmental tax issues, medical malpractice, construction disputes, and commercial/business litigation. Building on his experience as a former staff attorney for the South Carolina Court of Appeals, Chris also regularly handles appeals.

Chris has spent his career in courtrooms and has tried over 25 cases to jury verdicts in both state and federal courts. This experience has enabled Chris not only to push disputes to court when a case calls for it, but also to advise clients on their contracts and transactions so that they can avoid problems they may otherwise face if presented with a lawsuit

Chris spends his “free” time with his wife and four children. He plays the guitar poorly and way too frequently for his family’s tastes and catches movies whenever possible. He has also persevered as a Gamecock fan since he claimed allegiance in kindergarten.
